Refreshment Training for CCM and CAS
A five-day first round refresher has been conducted by NAPHAD from March 09–13, 2026 at Sunny Side Hotel, Kombolicha for East Amhara and from March 17-20 2nd round & March 28-April 01,2026 3rd round at Injibara, Carnid Hotel for West Amhara. The training brought together Community Case Managers (CCM) and Community Adherence Supporters (CAS) representing PLHIV associations from East Amhara.
The main objective of the training was to refresh participants’ knowledge and strengthen their skills in community-based HIV case management, adherence support, client follow-up, and effective service linkage for people living with HIV. The training also focused on improving participants’ capacity to provide quality psychosocial support, adherence counseling, and community-level monitoring and reporting.
A total of CCMs and CAS members actively participated in interactive sessions, group discussions, and experience-sharing activities that enhanced their understanding and practical skills. The training also emphasized reducing stigma and discrimination, strengthening confidentiality, and improving coordination with health facilities to ensure better treatment outcomes for PLHIV.
The training was organized with the support of NEP+/MOF through the Global Fund GC_7 round, which continues to strengthen community systems and improve HIV service delivery through PLHIV associations.
Overall, the training was successfully conducted and is expected to enhance the effectiveness of CCMs and CAS in supporting treatment adherence, retention in care, and improved quality of PLHIV in Amhara region.
